The latest figures show that the number of people claiming unemployment-related benefits in Sefton has fallen by 150 over the last 12 months. 70 drop in Bootle constituency, 75 drop in Sefton Central constituency and 5 drop in Southport constituency.
There are now 6,060 people claiming and being supported with unemployment benefits, including those still receiving Jobseekers' Allowance or Universal Credit and required to seek work. Bootle constituency 3,525, Sefton Central constituency 860 and Southport constituency 1,675.
The Government's 'Find a Job' service currently has 2,999 job vacancies across Merseyside.
