Marcus Bleasdale is the son of Colin Bleasdale and Frances Martland.
The Martland family rented & farmed Aintree Hall Farm, one of Aintree’s Farms, from the Earl of Sefton in the early 1900’s.
Sam Bleasdale, Marcus’ Grandfather, through his company the Sefton Building Company Ltd. of Aintree, bought the land from the Earl of Sefton.
Aintree Village was largely designed & built by the Sefton Building Co. Ltd between the 1930’s & the early 1970’s. This included the building of c. 2,500 semi-detached houses, the roads, the library (closed by our Labour Council) & the three Shopping Centres, amongst other buildings. The Bleasdale family helped pioneer home ownership locally in the 1930’s, linking with building societies & offering working families the opportunity to finance the purchase of their own homes.
Marcus continues the family legacy today with the management of the three Aintree Shopping Centres, part of the Bleasdale Companies run from Aintree Village, as they have been since 1932.
