Over the next two months, pensioner households across Sefton will receive letters from the Department of Work and Pensions with details of this year's Winter Fuel Payments.
For the second year running many will also automatically receive the extra Cost of Living Payment of between £150 to £300.
This means pensioners will, once again, benefit from at least £250, and up to £600, to help with winter fuel bills. Last year, 44,247 households received this cash, including nearly 15,000 households aged over 80.
