Local Conservatives would like to see Sefton Council working positively with our Blundellsands & Crosby schools to improve our local environment.
Our thriving and popular schools place great emphasis on developing and environment awareness amongst their pupils. This includes forest and beach projects, many of which have received national awards.
We need to encourage parents to help play their part in improving the environment for their children. We are suggesting that Sefton follows the example of other councils by establishing "no idling zones" outside the local schools. Turning off the car engine will help improve air quality outside schools, particularly helping those who suffer from asthma and other respiratory conditions. NICE have confirmed that those most affected by air pollution are children aged 14 and under and older people(+65).
Speaking this week Conservative candidate for Blundellsands ward Martyn Barber said: " Local Conservatives aim to work with the community to improve our precious air quality and help improve our residents' health.
