Local Conservatives will always fight to protect the greenbelt and agricultural land across the Sefton Central Constituency, insisting that brownfield sites are redeveloped first.
And even then we will oppose any development on brownfield sites that is not in perfect keeping with the local surroundings.
The Labour party have controlled Sefton Council since 2012, and have a large majority on the planning committee.
Our Labour Council's excuses are wearing very thin as to why they continue to destroy greenbelt and agricultural land across our constituency. They may want to live in a concrete jungle but most residents don't. Stop their destruction NOW by voting Conservative on Thursday May 6.
CONSERVATIVE MANIFESTO 2019 GENERAL ELECTION
The Green Belt.
We will protect and enhance the Green Belt. We will improve poor quality land, increase biodiversity and make our beautiful countryside more accessible for local community use. In order to safeguard our green spaces, we will continue to prioritise brownfield development, particularly for the regeneration of our cities and towns.
This is an extract from the Labour Party manifesto of 2019:
A Labour government will maintain agricultural and rural structural funds but repurpose them to support environmental land management and sustainable methods of food production.
So, could Sefton Labour Council explain why they want to destroy Grade I agricultural land in Maghull and have already decimated greenbelt across Formby, Thornton, Melling and Maghull, whilst totally ignoring the brownfield sites we have across the Borough?
