The most recent Labour leaflet designed to seduce voters in Sefton’s most affluent ward was headlined ‘On your side.’
That couldn't be further from the truth. Indeed, it is a political claim that is utterly off-side.
Residents of Harington Ward pay more in council tax (and incidentally income tax) than any group in the entire borough. More than £7m to be precise. Yet they remain massively short-changed by a Labour council which is blatantly picking their pockets but can’t even clear the drains.
While paying cringeworthy lip-service to respecting the property values and environmental beauty of the area, Labour is, in fact, systematically undermining the hard-won prosperity of residents with the lie that it cares for their futures.
The reality is that they are eroding financial prospects and expected standards of community responsibility and behaviour with a skewed social housing policy.
This year Labour is planning to squander more than SIX TIMES the total annual Harington Ward council tax contribution on the first phase of their doctrinal obsession with “repurposing” Bootle New Strand.
This is but one of their failed “investment” schemes, which already include hospitality and housing projects run by leaders with little or no business experience.
To not vote Conservative is to leave Labour financial irresponsibility unchecked. To vote for an Independent is to let Labour in.
Too many voters think short-term. Don’t.
The truth is that Harington ward voters are being mugged by political confidence tricksters.
This is your wake-up call!
