Cutting plastic waste. Protecting our rivers and oceans. Tougher action against polluters.
The government’s Environment Act sets legally binding targets to improve our air quality, increase biodiversity and cut plastic usage.
And it’s not just about protecting our planet for future generations. It’s also about improving our local environment – here and now.
That’s why Conservatives have brought in tough new measures to protect our rivers and clean-up pollution. With new legal duties on water companies. Extra powers to crack down on sewage discharge. And tougher action against water companies that illegally pollute our rivers – already resulting in 48 prosecutions.
And it also means protecting our local wildlife and restoring habitats. Planting 40 million trees and restoring 35,000 hectares of peatland in England by 2025.
With your support, we can continue to take the action needed to cut pollution, clean-up our rivers, and protect our environment.
