Formby Conservative councillors and Party supporters in Harington Ward are pushing ahead with their hands-on clearance of grot spots in the area.
The latest challenge for the team, which residents have nick-named the Land Army, was to spruce up the site of the old Freshfield surgery at the junction of Gores Lane, Old Town Land and Piercefield Road. It follows on from earlier improvements at Harington Road shops and at the entrance to Freshfield Station.
Michael Coles, caretaker chairman of the ward committee, and a former Conservative chairman of the Parish Council, promises that the make-overs will continue throughout the autumn.
Michael says; “Not only are we identifying the most needy sites, but we are also returning to keep them in good shape.”
He was referring to a second gardening spree at Harington Road. Parish Councillor Joe Riley, Harington Ward Conservative candidate for the Sefton MBC elections next May, commented: “This means that each area continues to be improved and becomes more refined. “I am delighted to report that we are meeting with 100 percent approval from both residents and business owners.”
