These are absolutely critical times for ensuring the effectiveness of the Conservative vote and fighting any complacency. Also a time for registering as many postal votes as possible: a simple enough process, the earlier the better.
The issues are no more relevant than in Formby’s Harington Ward which yields the highest Council Tax - more than £7m - but where there is a far from proportionate return in value, and where the incompetence of Sefton’s Labour-led council is never more than a pothole or a permanently blocked drain away.
This is despite the government funding for the borough increasing by more than 13% during the past year.
In short, Labour cannot bring the fight to residents, because they are financially inept and have nothing to offer.
Yet those same councillors have just voted to give themselves an inflation-busting pay rise of more than six per cent. You couldn’t make it up!
Remember, this is a LOCAL election about LOCAL issues. Too often voters think short-term, which invites further disaster
