On 6th January 2022 Sefton’s Labour Cabinet is being asked to approve further expenditure on Bootle Strand.
This belated Christmas gift over the next 3 years totals £795,000.
£120,000 is planned to be spent in 2021/2022, £540,000 in 2022/23 and £135,000 in 2023/24.
The purpose of this expenditure is not explained other than under a general heading “The Strand Business Plan.”
We don’t know whether this represents consultants’ fees, essential repairs or genuine improvements. As usual, this expenditure will doubtless be nodded through by our Labour politicians whilst other parts of the borough are allowed to fall into decline.
Again, this project is surrounded in mystery and there still remain no firm published proposals to explain the Council’s intentions for this deteriorating “asset.”
When will we be informed of the Council’s plans for the white elephant which is Bootle Strand?
