Formby’s Conservative Land Army of environmental volunteers continue to make advances.
Their latest improvement project has been to clear and cut back shrubbery on the busy pedestrian route between Lonsdale Road and Rosemary Lane.
It follows team efforts to improve neglected sites at Harington Road shops, Freshfield Surgery, the approach to Freshfield Station and the Royal Mail sorting office in the village.
Michael Coles, former Conservative chairman of the parish council and currently caretaker chairman of Harington Ward group, said: “We do this work because we care about our community. “We cannot stand by and see these highly visible sites deteriorate, just because those responsible are not doing their job.”
Once again, public responses, from passers-by and also on social media, shows 100 percent approval.
Parish councillor Joe Riley, Harington Ward Conservative candidate for the May 2021 Sefton MBC elections, said: “Residents are certainly taking stock of the overall impact of these collective improvements and the feedback is wholly encouraging.”
