Every ward in the Sefton Borough has a devolved budget, a small pot of money that can be used to address local problems within the community. In Blundellsands local Councillors still have over £10,000 in ward funds laying idle.
Having spoken to many local residents Blundellsands Conservatives believe the funds could be used towards dealing with the following issues in Blundellsands ward:
- Additional litter bins, especially to cope with the small number of dog-walkers who are throwing doggy poo-bags over walls, etc.
- Supporting health & the environment by promoting a "no idling" campaign for motorists, especially near schools.
- Protecting grass verges from motorists parking on them by 'shrub and staking' grassed areas.
- Better lighting in the Blundellsands Station subway.
